Mr. Ryan Griffin
I am honored to be the principal at Mount Olive Elementary for the 2023-2024 school year! The safety and well-being of our students and staff is my top priority, therefore, I will strive daily to ensure a safe learning environment at Mount Olive Elementary. I believe that every student has the ability to learn and be successful and feel it is our mission, as educators, to give them the resources they deserve to reach that goal. I am looking forward to a great school year.
Before coming to Mount Olive, I had the privilege of serving as the principal at West Jefferson Elementary school and as an assistant principal at Bragg Middle School. I taught social studies at Bottenfield Middle School for 4 years and AP Government and Politics, US Government, and Economics at Gardendale High School for 14 years. I was also the head basketball coach at both Bottenfield Middle and Gardendale High School during my tenure at each school. Most of my 22 years in education have been in the Gardendale High School feeder pattern, so I am excited to be back in familiar territory.
On a personal note, I am married to my wife Brandye and we have 2 wonderful kids. We enjoy spending time together. Swimming is our favorite family activity because it's one of the few things we all agree on, and we also love to travel.
